Assistive Technology Center
UCP of Stanislaus recently received a grant from the California Communications Access Foundation to expand our Assistive Technology Center (AT Center). With the grant, the AT Center will be equipped with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices. Items will include speech generating devices that our members can use and evaluate. Using these devices will open up a new world of communication for many of our members while providing a better understanding of their needs and abilities. UCP wishes to thank the California Communications Access Foundation for their support in this project. To find out more about the CCAF, please visit their website here.

Community Project for Safe Seniors
UCP is proud to offer a new and exciting service to selected areas of the county. The Community Project for Safe Seniors provides a free service to eligible seniors by assisting in performing light maintenance work around the home. Our Work Crews, made up of people with disabilities, will help clear debris around the home, clear rain gutters, help remove potential blight conserns, and identify safety issues. The result is a safer living environment for elderly persons while providing employment training and employment opportunites for people with disabilities. This service is available in selected communities throughout the county. Please call us for more information.

This project is a collaborative effort in conjunction with Stanislaus County and the City Of Modesto.

Micro Enterprise Opportunities
UCP has launched micro enterprise opportunities for our members. Local businesses can participate by allowing us to place a vending machine in their place of business. Once a week, our Members will refill the vending machines with your favorite snacks and soft drinks. Call us today to request a vending machine and help support UCP's Expanding Horizon program.

Youth and Family Services
UCP of Stanislaus is excited to announce that we are eagerly working on expanding our program to include Youth and Family Services. UCP does not exclusively serve those with Cerebral Palsy. We are proud to serve our community and to provide services to persons with all types of disabilities. In order to provide a quality and meaningful experience, it is important for us to connect with our local families and to hear where their concerns and needs lie.

We are currently in the process of organizing a family support/focus group. The meetings are held on the last Tuesday of every month from 6:30PM to 7:30PM at our main office.

Families of disabled youth are strongly encouraged to attend these meetings. This is an excellent opportunity to show and receive support from those who truly understand what you are going through. In addition, this opportunity allows our organization to hear YOUR voice so that we may create a Youth and Family Service program that meets the unique needs of you and your loved ones. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our Youth and Family Services Program Coordinator, Shawna Morse.

Be sure to visit our Facebook event page for upcoming meetings.
